I am a product of the "Be All You Can Be" era of military service. To me, those words were never just a recruiting slogan — they were a covenant.

Across 42 years of combined service spanning Active Duty, the Army Reserve, and Federal Civil Service, I dedicated my career to securing our nation's defense. As a live studio director for AFN-TV and a multimedia producer supporting TRADOC and Army Recruitment Command, my mission was translation.

I took complex policy, high-level strategy, and command intent and transformed them into stories people could understand — whether supporting million-dollar budget decisions or helping train paratroopers at Fort Bragg.

Communication was never simply about cameras or scripts. It was about clarity, purpose, and trust.

Focusing the Lens

My tenacity is rooted in a lifelong journey of faith and perseverance — a journey I document in the first installment of my memoir series, Roll Tape: A 42-Year Reel of Faith in Action.

In Episode One: Focusing the Lens — Seeing the Gift in Every Disability, I share how God transformed the obstacle of undiagnosed dyslexia into a professional blessing. Through that struggle, I learned to recognize patterns where others saw barriers.

I do not see disability as a limitation. I see it as a lens that simply needs focusing. That perspective shaped both my career and my calling: helping others understand what might otherwise go unseen.

Bulletproof Benefits for the Next Generation

This campaign is not about restoring my personal benefits. With the assistance of the VA's MOVE! Program, I successfully lowered my BMI and am no longer medically classified as obese. My personal battle has been won.

My motivation now is larger than myself. I advocate to ensure that every beneficiary — not only TRICARE For Life recipients, but younger retirees and the next generation of service members — receives benefits that remain reliable, consistent, and worthy of the sacrifices made in service to this nation.

I bring the tenacity of 42 years navigating Army systems, combined with a lifetime of faith, to this effort. Correcting this policy flaw is not merely an aspiration. It is a winnable mission.
